The project was a ward refurbishment in a live mental health hospital.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The refurbishment of Brunswick Ward involved:
Comprehensive upgrades aimed at improving safety, comfort and the overall environment for service users.
The work included the refurbishment of 13 bedrooms, each with newly installed en-suite facilites, as well as the creation of 3 fully equipped wet rooms. All sanitaryware and furntiure fitted were anti-ligature, in line with best practice for mental health settings, to minimise the risk of self harm.
Communal areas and corridors were also redecorated, enhancing the therapeutic feel of the ward. The updated design strikes a balance between safety and a calming, welcoming atmosphere, contributing positively to both service user wellbeing and staff working conditions.
