Refurbishment of the 1st Floor X-Ray Department

Project Information:

The new Ultrasound Rooms in St Helier Hospital offer patients two separate areas in which to receive Ultrasound Scans. This can include scans of the vital organs such as the heart, liver, kidney ETC. It also provides scans for woman to check if the fetus is healthy and well.

The refurbished X Ray Department Level 1 in St Helier Hospital has now been transformed into an area in which Paediatric X-Ray’s can take place. This will include X Ray images of both full body and also dental. The area now has two X-Ray Rooms, a Processing Room, Changing Cubicle and also a Waiting Area. The project was carried out by a live area where patients were around and also throughout the start of the Covid infection wave making the task a little more challenging.

 

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION (Phase1)

 The installation of the two Ultrasound Rooms consisted of the following:

  • Demolition
  • Steel installation (structural work)
  • New Acrovyn wrapped door sets
  • Dado trunking installation
  • Mechanical installation (AC Units & IPS)
  • Electrical installation (Lighting, Double Sockets, Data Points)
  • Suspended Ceiling
  • Worktops
  • Black Out Roller Blinds
  • Vinyl Flooring
  • Stirling Cabinet Units (Infection Control Standard)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION (Phase2&3)

 The installation of the X-Ray Department consisted of the following:

  • Demolition
  • New partitions
  • Code 4 lead lining of both X Ray Rooms
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical (new sanitaryware, AC installation, ventilation)
  • Window installation
  • New Acrovyn door sets
  • Vinyl flooring
  • Suspended ceiling installation
  • Lead lined screens
  • Steel beam supports for new X Ray Machines
