Project Information:
The Frimley Park Hospital Endoscopy Air Handling Unit Replacement Project involved upgrading the existing air handling units (AHUs) to ensure the department was provided with clean and safe air to the patient environments. This project aimed to enhance the air quality, improve ventilation, and maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels within the endoscopy unit.
The works involved in this project were the assessment and planning required to successfully carry out these works which required a detailed evaluation of the existing AHUs, the endoscopy unit’s ventilation requirements and the specification of the AHUs.
The safe decommissioning and removal of the old AHUs which involved proper draining and dismantling of the units, correct disposal of the refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
This project was completed in 2no phases, as there were two separate Air Handling Units that were replaced for the Endoscopy Department. These works were carried out around live hospital wards.
